Former Deputy President David Mabuza.
African National Congress (ANC) Head of Presidency, Sibongile Besani, has lauded the late former Deputy President David Mabuza for being a man of principle and unity during the time of the organisation’s turmoil.
Besani says Mabuza was open to use his own resources to support the organisation.
The 64-year-old Mabuza died after falling ill last week.
Besani was speaking on the sidelines of his visit to Mabuza’s home in Barberton in Mpumalanga.
“And for that, we want to thank his contribution to this movement. Secondly, comrade David Mabuza was a very resourceful cadre. A resourceful member of the ANC, and a resourceful leader. He had invested a lot (of) his own resources and shared them with the organisation. And as the Free State, we will remember him for ensuring that where we had our own shortcomings, as an organisation, he was able to come in handy. He used and sacrificed his own resources for the organisation,” says Besani.
