Grade 11 learners Elihle Msomi and Sinazo Nzama.
Two learners from Adams College south of Durban will be representing South Africa in Sweden in a global science competition. Grade 11 learners Elihle Msomi and Sinazo Nzama started a project called Aqua Crusader. It’s a robot that extracts pollutants like microplastics from rivers and the sea.
Msomi and Nzama won in the provincial and national competitions and will be competing with other countries from across the world under the People’s Choice Award next week.
“We are participating in a South African Youth Water Prize along with my partner and now, we have won nationally, and we are going to represent SA internationally, in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize. We need votes and I call on South Africans to vote,” says Msomi.
“We did this water project to solve South Africa’s water problems and we are requesting South Africans to vote for us under the link called votestockholmwater foundation and select Aqua Crusader,” says Nzama.
