DA’s Zille promises water, electricity for Joburg if voted into power

Democratic Alliance (DA) Mayoral candidate for Johannesburg Helen Zille has assured residents that her party will deliver reliable water supply and electricity in the city if the DA is voted into power.

Zille was speaking at the Johannesburg City Hall where she launched her mayoral candidacy manifesto.

Many Johannesburg residents are battling a water and electricity problems, which have been attributed to ailing infrastructure, among other things.

Zille says the money residents pay for essential services will be ring-fenced to fix and maintain those services

“And we will partner with the private sector to invest in infrastructure to keep this city running. Money collected for water must fix water. Money collected for electricity must fix electricity, not fund the ANC’s friends and families and blue lights and Johnny Walker blue. The only good blue thing in Johannesburg is the DA. That is the blue that will fix Joburg,” says Zille.
