The South African Weather Service has issued an alert for strong and damaging winds in parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday. This, as a cold front sweeps across parts of South Africa from today.
The Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Free State and even Lesotho will see a sharp drop in temperatures, possible heavy rains and snow.
Forecaster Tokelo Chiloane has urged the public to take the necessary precautions.
“At the moment, we expect those damaging winds to be in some parts of the province as well as along the coast of KZN, if the temperatures are going to be as cold as we expect them, we might even be giving a heads up to those staying in the mountainous areas because they might be getting snow. So, we are waiting for the cold front to make landfall to determine how it drops the temperature.”
