The Democratic Alliance (DA) has called on the Patriotic Alliance (PA) to take immediate action against its Cape Town youth leader who the DA says is under criminal investigation for allegedly attempting to solicit sex from a teenage girl in Bonteheuwel.
The DA has not named the person.
The DA says in a statement that there are serious questions about the PA’s leadership, especially amid allegations of racism against PA leader, Gayton McKenzie.
DA Councillor, Angus McKenzie says, “The Democratic Alliance calls on the Patriotic Alliance to immediately take harsh action against its Cape Town youth leader who is under criminal investigation for attempting to solicit sexual activity from a teenage girl in Bonteheuwel. This matter is now the subject of a police investigation, and the full weight of the law must apply. South Africans deserve leaders who protect children, respect women, and follow the law.”
McKenzie says the PA “has shown itself to be a party of law-breakers, not law-makers”.
“The PA youth leader who has been caught out in this scandal must face the criminal justice system, and the PA must answer for why it has senior people who prey on vulnerable people in our society, like girl children who are trying to get their education,” adds McKenzie.
