Transport Minister Barbara Creecy conducts a special visit to assess progress on the R573 Moloto Corridor Road Project from Limpopo to Gauteng.
Transport Minister Barbara Creecy is expected to launch the 2025 Easter Road Safety campaign in Pretoria later this morning.
The campaign aims to manage high traffic volumes and reduce fatal crashes, which are common during the Easter holiday period as road users travel to holiday and religious destinations.
According to the Transport Department, 335 fatalities were recorded during last year’s Easter long weekend, an increase from 252 in the previous year.
The department says the campaign will focus on ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and preventing negligent and reckless driving.
