CPFs in Durban want assistance to bolster their crime fight

Community Policing Forums (CPFs) from some of Durban’s most dangerous areas are seeking urgent help in their fight against crime.

Representatives of some of the CPFs and KwaZulu-Natal government officials met yesterday.

They discussed challenges that CPFs are facing and ways of strengthening their working relationship with law enforcement agencies.

Inanda and KwaMashu are crime hotspots.

Representative of the Ntuzuma Neighbourhood Watch, Andile Jali says they also need funding and training.

“The resources that we need as a structure is that we need resources such as cars. As we understand that we are first respondent in terms of crime. And assisting in school visiting and that is why we are asking the Premier to assist us in terms of boots so that we can stabilise crime.”
