The Thohoyandou High Court in Limpopo has warned murder accused and social media influencer, Livhuwani Madadzhe, against using tactics to evade trial.

This after Madazhe’s lawyer told the court that he would not be able to take the witness stand due to ill health.

However, Judge Thogomelani Tshidada says he had been made aware of Madadzhe’s attempts to solicit sick notes to avoid attending court.

Madadzhe is accused of killing his partner, Lindelani Nengovhela, two years ago.

He allegedly dumped her body in a waterlogged pit toilet at Sidou-Mangodi outside Thohoyandou.

Judge Tshidada read text messages from Madadzhe to a medical doctor asking for a sick note.

“The application that is currently being made by the defence council, when I view them against these messages that were transmitted to me, they cast doubt on this application from yesterday morning. He has been attempting to obtain a sick note from a doctor.”

“I must commend [the doctor], at this stage, he acted professionally by making sure that he brings this to the attention of the court. That the accused is attempting to solicit a sick note that evade attendance,” explains Judge Tshidada.
