The High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo, will this morning hear an urgent application to interdict the African National Congress’ (ANC) Norman Mashabane Regional Elective Conference.
The conference’s registration process started yesterday in Tzaneen. It is scheduled to end tomorrow.
Limpopo provincial Secretary, Reuben Madadzhe, Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula and the Region’s Co-ordinator, Goodman Mtileni, have been cited as the respondents. The ANC is yet to comment.
The applicants want the conference to be interdicted, or for delegates from six branches to be interdicted from participating.
The conference was postponed last week to this weekend due to unresolved disputes.
Last week, the start of the party’s Vhembe regional conference also experienced similar delays.
Unresolved disputes in the Peter Mokaba region are also expected to cause delays in the start of its conference, which is scheduled to also get underway this weekend.
