The bail application of the Limpopo police officer who allegedly benefitted from R10 million insurance fraud is expected to resume in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Sergeant Rachel Kutumela, her daughter Florah Shokane and sister Anna Shokane were charged with fraud in October last year.

Their arrests relate to the killing of nine people allegedly for insurance payouts.

Anna Shokane is expected to continue giving oral testimony as part of her application for bail.

Flora and her aunt Anna Shokane face three murder charges each, several other charges of money laundering, as well as benefitting from the proceeds of crime.

The three intend to plead not guilty to the charges. Kutumela last year stopped applying for bail after testifying for three days. She has now resumed her bail application.

Florah Shokane also previously took the witness stand as she applied for bail. The bail application has been set for the next three days.
