Court pulls plug on ANC EC elective conference amid irregularities

The East London High Court has ruled that the Eastern Cape African National Congress (ANC) elective conference, scheduled for this weekend in KuGompo, cannot go ahead.

The elective conference was scheduled to open in KuGompo, Eastern Cape, on Friday.

On Wednesday, the court heard arguments from ANC members in the province that filed an urgent application to interdict the conference. The applicants are citing irregularities in the convening of Branch General Meetings, unlawful issuing of QR Codes and membership system manipulation amongst their reasons.
