Pretoria Magistrates’ Court has postponed the case against Police Crime Intelligence Head, Lieutenant General Dumisani Khumalo to next week Friday.
Khumalo and six co-accused face charges stemming from the alleged irregular appointment of Brigadier Dineo Mokwele to a senior position within SAPS Crime Intelligence, allegedly bypassing required vetting procedures.
Next week Friday, the court will hear the application to amend bail conditions for Khumalo as well as accused numbers 3, 4 and 7.
After Friday’s hearing, court will again sit on the 8th of September when all seven will appear before the same court for a trial date to be set.
According to the state, some witnesses who are also police officers, and they are known by the accused and a condition must be added that they should not be in contact the with them.
The matter will be back in court next week Friday.
