Court dismisses Moroadi Cholota’s bid to halt her corruption case

The Free State High Court in Bloemfontein has dismissed corruption co-accused Moroadi Cholota’s bid to stop her prosecution.

The court has ruled in her trial in which she sought to avoid prosecution in the R255-million asbestos roof removal corruption case.

The Constitutional Court referred the matter back to the High Court after finding that Cholota’s extradition from the US was unprocedural, but South African courts still had jurisdiction to prosecute her.

Judge Phillip Loubser delivered the judgment.
