COSATU members will protest the US’ attack on Venezuela, outside the US embassy in KwaZulu-Natal
Members of Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) will, on Friday, gather outside the US embassy in KwaZulu-Natal in protest against the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, earlier this year.

The labour federation says the action violates international law.
COSATU’s provincial secretary Edwin Mkhize says they also condemn what they call US President Donald Trump’s imperialistic tactics.
“Our principle is that an injury to one is an injury to all. What we see happening in Venezuela, we really don’t think that it’s just Venezuela or it’s just Maduro and Cilia. Our view as a federation is that what happened there can happen in any developing country,” says Mkhize.

He says that the attack on Venezuela is an attack on sovereignty.
“We really don’t think that we should just keep quiet and fold our arms,” adds Mkhize.
