Slain South African artist, Oupa John Sefoka, famously known as DJ Sumbody.
Police say a conviction in the murder case of Oupa John Sefoka, popularly known as DJ Sumbody, would give the bereaved family some closure.
Four people have been arrested in the case.
They appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court, in Johannesburg, yesterday.
The accused will be back in court on Tuesday next week.
National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says, “Well done to the men and women in blue, not only the political killing task team but also Gauteng organized crime for ensuring that they bring a watertight case that will be able to stand in court.”
“I think DJ Sumbody’s case is one of those cases that required time. Because it required that we piece evidence together and the firearms that have been linked to the Armand Swart case and DJ Sumbody’s case are not the only linkage in terms of evidence. We have overwhelming evidence against these suspects. Hopefully, we will see a conviction,” says Mathe.
