The High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo, will on Wednesday start with sentencing proceedings against murder convict and businessman, Rameez Patel.
Patel was convicted of the murder of his wife, Fatima Patel, after a decade-long trial.
She was found dead at Nirvana in April 2015.
Judge Joseph Raulinga delivered the guilty verdict last month.
The court also revoked Patel’s R250 000 bail that was granted in 2015.
Patel’s defence team failed in its bid to have bail reinstated just before his guilty verdict could be delivered.
The court ruled that it would not be in the interest of justice to extend his bail while there is a guilty verdict.
