The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) says it plans to engage with key national leaders, including former President Jacob Zuma and AmaZulu King Misuzulu, as part of its National Consultative Pilgrimage initiative.

This follows a recent meeting with former President Thabo Mbeki, as Contralesa seeks to interact with kings, queens, traditional leaders, and communities across the country about the current state of the nation.

Contralesa President Lameck Mokoena said the initiative aims to address the serious deterioration of political, social, and economic conditions in the country. Mokoena indicated that the goal is to meet with all targeted leaders by August.

Mokoena says, “Anyway we’ve got a date with our former president Zuma, already we have sent the General Secretary and met Isilo samabandla ingonyama uMisuzulu, already we are going to meet three kings from the Eastern Cape. We are also planning to meet Mosibudi Mangena, who was a former president of Azapo, and many other leaders of society because of the crusade.

“The pilgrimage is the one that we want to prioritise this year, so that South Africans know exactly where we are in terms of making sure that our country becomes stable,” adds Mokoena.
