A hospital room.
The Gauteng Department of Health says contractors have been appointed to seal the roofs in the affected wards at Sebokeng Hospital, in the Vaal.
This is after the roof and the ceiling in three wards were damaged due to heavy rainfall this week.
This has caused a blockage in the storm drainpipe.
A plumber was called on-site to assess the cause of the blockage, which was found to be soil and rocks obstructing the drainage system.
“Additionally, contractors have also been appointed to seal the roofs in ward 5,6,7 and the connecting passage. So far, the sealing of the roofs has been completed in all the three wards and the damaged roofing sheets are being replaced,” says the department’s spokesperson, Motalatale Modiba.
