Constables’ tragic deaths touched me deeply: Deputy Minister Boshielo

Deputy Police Minister Polly Boshielo has reassured the families of three deceased constables, Cebekhulu Linda, Boipelo Senoge and Keamogetswe Buys that the investigation is ongoing to piece together what happened to their loved ones.

She spoke at the joint memorial service of the constables at Bobbies Park in Bloemfontein.

The bodies of the constables were retrieved from the Hennops River in Centurion, Pretoria after they went missing for several days.

Boshielo says they had hoped to find the constables alive.

She says, “We were praying to find them alive, so when I arrived there at the scene, I then realised that the tragic loss of our officers resonated and touched me deeply on the personal level, touching the very core of my being. I am saying this because no parent must bury their child, it should be the other way around, and we should bury our parents.”– Reporting by Matshidiso Selebeleng.
