Congregants arrive for Sunday’s National Prayer at FNB Stadium

1 minute

Scores of congregants from different churches have started to make their way to the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, in Johannesburg. This as the 2024 National Day of Prayer is set to take place tomorrow morning.

The prayer will be hosted by the Motsepe Foundation.

Several roads have been closed off to traffic as a result.

This will be the fourth National Day of Prayer in South Africa.

The first event was held in 2017 and then in the following two years. The last day of prayer was in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is an observance held in many countries around the world to encourage people of all faiths to come together in prayer for their nation.

It serves as an opportunity for people to come together in solidarity and reflection, regardless of their religious beliefs.

Meanwhile, a night vigil is being held ahead of the National Day of Prayer tomorrow.
