ConCourt ruling on EFF’s Phala-Phala bid expected within a month

The Constitutional Court judgment on the Economic Freedom Fighter’s bid to revive the Phala-Phala saga is said to be at an advanced stage with its delivery expected to be delivered within a month.

This is revealed in correspondence from the apex court to the EFF who have been calling for the delivery of the judgment on the matter which was initially heard on 26 November 2024.

The EFF turned to the ConCourt in 2024 to challenge parliaments December 2022 decision to not adopt the Section 89 panel report which found that President Cyril Ramaphosa may have a case to answer on the issue.

This is in relation to a February 2020 incident where President Ramaphosa’s Limpopo farm was rocked by a burglary of foreign currency to the tune of millions.
