KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) MEC, the Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi has launched the Amakhosi Empowerment Programme, aimed at bridging the unemployment gap, particularly among the youth, in the Mandeni area, in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
He met with the community and 35 chiefs from the iLembe District.
Buthelezi handed over cold rooms and other catering equipment to support local initiatives.
“With this program, we aim to motivate the youth to wake up and use their skills to grow the economy, enhance themselves, and support their families. We launched the program in the Umkhanyakude District, last year. Today, we’re here at Ilembe and we plan on expanding it to the entire province,” says Buthelezi.
