Closing arguments in Inquest into 21 deaths at Enyobeni Tavern


Closing arguments will be heard on Monday at the inquest into the Enyobeni tragedy in the East London Regional Court sitting in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape.

The inquest seeks to establish whether anyone can be criminally prosecuted for the deaths of the 21 young people who lost their lives at Enyobeni Tavern in June 2022.

The inquest has seen testimonies from Enyobeni owners  Siyakhangela and Vuyokazi Ndevu  as well as staff and medical personnel.

The couple was found guilty  of selling or supplying liquor to persons under the age of 18 years.
