Closing arguments expected in Enyobeni tavern tragedy Inquest

Closing arguments in the Enyobeni Inquest are expected to continue in the East London Regional Court sitting in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape on Wednesday.

The inquest seeks to establish whether anyone can be held liable for the deaths of 21 young people who perished at Enyobeni Tavern in Scenery Park back in 2022.

One of the parents who lost a child during the incident, Ntombizonke Mgangala, says she is unhappy with the issue of missing documents, which could shed light on the matter.

“There is this issue of missing documents or information that is delaying the closing arguments, that is making me to be very confused with a lot of unanswered questions…but I am patiently waiting to hear what they are going to say, so that’s how I feel.”
