Claims of extortion of Gift of the Givers workers slammed

The King Sabatha Dalindyebo (KSD) Municipality Mayor Nyaniso Nelani says police are investigating extortion allegations against staff members of humanitarian organisation, Gift of the Givers.

It is alleged that extortionists blocked the organisation’s workers, who were transporting water tankers to flood affected residents at a community hall in Mthatha.

Nelani has condemned this action.

“They were blocking the Gift of the Givers to issue out, what they have come with, bottles of water. As KSD, we condemn that.The investigation is continuing to trace them, so that we find them. Definitely we will find them, we cannot afford for the people to disturb such. To disturb the gesture, to disturb the good will that is coming up with the Gift of the Givers”.
