Cholota’s lawyer weighing options to seek redress

The lawyer of Moroadi Cholota, the former personal assistant of then Free State Premier Ace Magashule, says they are weighing all their options in order to seek redress regarding the alleged violation of her constitutional rights.

The High Court in Bloemfontein last week found that her extradition from the US to face criminal charges in relation to the asbestos case was in fact unlawful.

The Free State High Court has found that the NPA did not have jurisdiction to apply for extradition, which should be the role of the Justice Department.

Cholota’s instructing attorney Piet Tebane, “In as far as what will be our next step is something that we need to consider and take instruction from our client but obviously there are various options that can take because it is clear that our client’s constitutional rights were violated. So, we’re still going to take instruction and consider what is the next step.”
