The Chinese ambassador in South Africa, Wu Peng, says Beijing will continue to deepen its bilateral ties with South Africa. He took part in the seminar in Pretoria that seeks to enhance global trade cooperation amid rising protectionism.
The world is anxious following the sweeping tariffs imposed by the US.
Peng says the tariffs have negatively affected the global economy.
“This is a terrible current environment. However, I attended today’s conference. The main message I sent out to the South African audience is that I believe in the resilience South Africa’s economy. The tariffs actually are not formidable and our life will go on,” Peng
