Chiloane to lead Matric Pledge Signing Ceremony in Joburg


The Gauteng Education MEC, Matome Chiloane, will lead the National Senior Certificate Pledge Signing Ceremony at Vorentoe High School in Rossmore, Johannesburg, on Friday.

The event comes ahead of the 2025 matric exams that will be written from Monday next week.

Gauteng Education Spokesperson Steve Mabona says at the ceremony matric candidates will publicly commit to maintaining honesty, integrity, and accountability throughout the examination period.

“Through this ceremony, matric candidates will commit to upholding the examination code of conduct, pledging to remain honest, and integrity and accountability throughout the examination period will be upheld. The pledge reinforces the importance of ethical behaviour and fairness in the conduct of the examination.”

Meanwhile, examination quality assurance body, Umalusi says it will be monitoring examination centres across the country to maintain the integrity of the final year exams.
