Childhood friend pays tribute to DJ Warras

People in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN have joined others in paying tribute to the late DJ Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras.

Stock was gunned down in the Johannesburg CBD onTuesday afternoon.

One of his childhood friends, Rene Baeta remembers him as a caring, family-oriented father whose success inspired many young people in his hometown of Vryheid.

Baeta says Stock’s life and career shows what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.

“He was the life of any rules he was always entertaining to be around him. He did very well academically. I think it’s amazing, it’s a fairytale story, someone who comes from such a small town like this. I think a lot of people would look up to him because it showed a lot of people that it is possible to make it big. He was very orientated and was very driven.”
