Child rights organisations in Johannesburg have called on the Justice Department to find ways to speed up child abuse-related cases in the courts. The organisations say delayed cases further victimise children who are already in distress.
Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi visited the various organisations in Johannesburg, with the aim of finding ways to assist them.
Gauteng Childline Director Lynne Cawood and Teddy Bear Clinic Director Shaheda Omar say they also want the rate of convictions to improve.
