An eight-year-old boy and three adults have been shot and wounded in a crossfire between rival gangs in Parkwood on the Cape Flats.
Police spokesperson, Ndakhe Gwala, says the child sustained wounds to his pelvis and right leg. Gwala says all the victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
“Police registered two cases of attempted murder, following a shooting incident in Parkwood, where four people sustained injuries. The motive for the attack is believed to be gang related. Two gang affiliated males were shot at along with two bystanders, an eight-year-old boy and a 38-year-old female, caught in the crossfire,” sa7ys Gwala.
Gwala says the eight-year-old boy sustained injuries on his pelvis and right leg while the woman was injured on her left leg.
“The two males refused to open cases, all parties were taken to a medical facility for treatment.”
