Chiefs down Sundowns to book Nedbank Cup final with Pirates

Another Soweto derby is upon us, besides the league match between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates on the 3rd of May.

Kaizer Chiefs came back from a goal down to beat the star-studded Mamelodi Sundowns by two goals to one at the Loftus Versfeld stadium in Pretoria on Sunday evening.

Teboho Mokoena opened the scoring at the stroke of halftime from a dead ball situation. Early in the second half, Kaizer Chiefs leveled matters as Wandile Duba capitalised on sloppy defence and made it one all.

Duba’s replacement, Ashley du Preez, came off the bench and won the match for the gold-and-black ensemble, beating Ronwen Williams from close range. This means Chiefs will play against two-time defending champions, Orlando Pirates, in the final of the competition on the 10th of May at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
