Case against officer accused of Chesnay Keppler’s murder at court for pre-trial


The case against Police Sergeant Mandla Buthelezi, accused of murdering his girlfriend and Gauteng crime prevention warden, Chesnay Keppler, is sitting at the Johannesburg High Court for pre-trial matters, Friday morning.

The accused remains behind bars after his bail was revoked for violating conditions by intimidating witnesses.

Chesnay’s aunt, Dorothy Klein spoke to SABC News outside court, she says Buthelezi must face the full might of the law.

“He has no privileges. He had privileges when he was a police officer but now there are no privileges for him anymore. He must get what’s coming to him; a prison sentence. He is not coming out of there. Mandla killed my niece and she had her life. You took her life away from her, but you’re going to get what is coming to you, I told you at Protea. You think you’ve got everybody there, but we have the high court, because here we serve a living God,” he says.
