The Randburg Magistrate’s Court.
The case against Darren Wilken and his girlfriend, Tiona Moodley regarding their role in a high-profile child pornography ring, has been postponed to next month in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.
Wilken and Moodley face 24 counts, including money laundering, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, as well as contravention of the Drug Trafficking Act.
The FBI uncovered the accused’s involvement in distributing sexually explicit images of adults and minors via the dark web.
Wilken and Moodley made a brief appearance in the dock this morning.
This time around the matter was postponed to allow the Director of Public Prosecutions time to make a decision on their application to appeal their bail judgement.
During their previous court appearance, it was revealed that Wilken had earned over R3 million through illicit activities between 2023 and 2024.
Despite being unemployed, his girlfriend Moodley also received R1.5 million into her account.
The couple will remain behind bars until their next appearance.
