Cape Town Mayor to appear in court for alleged harassment

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis is scheduled to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court today after an application for a harassment order was filed against him.

The application was filed by a resident of the Bothasig area a few months ago who alleges that law enforcement officers have been deployed to their home on numerous occasions without merit.

It is also alleged that this is because a relative of Hill-Lewis resides near the applicant.

Hill-Lewis’s office has dismissed the allegations as being without merit and a waste of the court’s time.
