The 24,000 runners of the Cape Town Marathon will receive sponsored entry into next year’s race after this year’s event was cancelled.
Overnight winds caused major damage to race infrastructure.
Cape Town Marathon CEO Clark Gardner says, “We have been absolutely blown away by all the support, all the kindness and all the understanding from our participants, our partners, our sponsors and our community. But right now we’ve just been blown away by the absolute generosity of our title sponsor Sanlam, who have kindly offered all 2025 participants a sponsored entry for either the 2026 event or the 2027 event.”
