Confiscated drugs
Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in Kraaifontein, in Cape Town after 220 sachets of methamphetamine and mandrax tablets were found in his possession.
Police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi says officers were on patrol in the area when they saw a man running away from them with a bag.
Swartbooi says police caught up with the suspect and arrested him.
“Police members were busy with patrols in an informal settlement when they noticed a suspicious man who fled when he saw the patrol vehicle.
The members gave chase on foot and saw how the suspect dropped an object between rubble.
They apprehended the man and proceeded to search the area where the unknown object was dropped.
They recovered a parcel.”
