Cape Town firefighters have managed to bring a blaze on the premises of Strand foam in Strand under control in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon, fuelled by strong winds.
Police were called in after some of the bystanders pelted firefighters with stones.
Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services Spokesperson Jermaine Carelse says, “Crews worked with what’s known as CAFS, or a Compressed Air Foam System, to contain the blaze. Currently, there are two vehicles on scene, attending to hot spots. None of the buildings were damaged and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown.”
