Call for free scholar transport vehicle inspections in WC

The Department of Mobility in the Western Cape is calling on scholar transport operators to come for a free vehicle safety inspection ahead of the opening of schools this week.

The programme is set for Monday and Tuesday next week at the Gene Louw Traffic Training College in Brackenfell, Cape Town, and at the Beaufort West Vehicle Testing Centre.

Minister in the department Isaac Sileku says, “Ensuring the safety of our children begins with the vehicles that transport them everyday. This initiative is a vital step in preventing accidents and breakdowns by addressing potential safety risks before the learners return to the classroom. We urge all operators to take advantage of this and join us in prioritising safety on our roads,” says Louw.
