The President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, says CAF is about to conclude an eight-year, groundbreaking deal worth one billion US dollars to turn around the fortunes of African Football.
The deal pertains to broadcast rights for the continent’s major events.
Motsepe announced this in Nairobi, Kenya, after the CAF Executive Committee meeting on Saturday. The President of CAF also met with the 54 presidents of the member associations on the African continent.
Kenya and its neighbours, Uganda and Tanzania, co-hosted the most successful Africa Nations Championship to date.
The final between Morocco and Madagascar in Nairobi is scheduled for Saturday evening.
