CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe is in Dakar, Senegal
Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe visits Dakar, Senegal, on Wednesday. Although the Confederation has not released many details about the purpose of the trip.
The visit comes against the backdrop of the CAF Appeals Board stripping Senegal of their Africa Cup of Nations title.
Instead, they awarded hosts and finalists, Morocco a 3-nil victory.
The Board had detetermined that Senegal violated regulations by leaving the pitch before the end of the match.
Senegal has since appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The issue is also expected to be discussed during Wednesday’s meetings with Motsepe and top Senegalese soccer officials, such as its president, Abdoulaye Fall.
He will also be joined by the Football Leadership in Senegal and CAF’s Acting General Secretary, Samson Adamu.
Motsepe will be received in Dakar by Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
