Acting Police Minister, Prof Firoz Cachalia, Deputy Police Minister, Dr Polly Boshielo, together with Justice and Constitutional Development Deputy Minister, Andries Nel, will visit Mitchell’s Plain and Mfuleni in Cape Town due to the recent spate of gang-related violence in the areas.
Representatives from civic groups, religious leaders and Community Policing Forums (CPFs) will meet with these stakeholders.
The meeting will focus on the implementation of practical and community-driven interventions to fight the ongoing gang violence.
They also aim to strengthen inter-departmental cooperation and build sustainable partnerships with affected communities.
