Cabinet investigating misinformation regarding farm murders

Cabinet is investigating the violations of South African law related to the misinformation campaigns conducted by the labour unions Solidarity and AfriForum and their allies.

Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni announced this while briefing the media on the outcomes of Wednesday’s cabinet meeting in Pretoria on Thursday.

Ntshavheni says to prevent further misinformation, the South African Police Service has met with AfriForum to clarify the allegations of white genocide concerning farm murders, with the Afrikaner interest group conceding that the crime statistics as released by the Minister of Police are accurate, including on farm murders.

“It is common knowledge that some of the farm murders are committed by people known to the farmers, including family members. Cabinet is also aware of the false claim that there are approximately 72 000 white farmers who have signed up to relocate to the USA in response to the invitation by the US President. According to data from StatsSA, South Africa only has 41 122 farming units, and  therefore, there cannot be 72 000 white farmers leaving South Africa.”
