Boshielo warns parents to stop shielding children who commit crime

Deputy Police Minister, Dr. Polly Boshielo has warned parents to stop shielding children who have committed crime.

She says parents of Philangenkosi Makhanya were arrested after his mother tipped him off that police were looking for him.

Makhanya who is the main suspect in the murder of Olorato Mongale, was shot and killed in a shootout with police in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal on Friday.

Addressing mourners at Mongale’s funeral service in Bloemfontein, Free State yesterday, Boshielo says police are still searching for Bongani Mthimkulu.

She says, “We are still searching for Bongani Mthimkulu because we have narrowed our investigation and now know that flanking Philangenkosi and Bongani Mthimkulu were working together and they were syndicate that was targeting women in various malls across the country.”

“ Please advise him, to come before we find him because sometimes when we find you, this is not nice, so if you know him, advise him to surrender to the nearest police station,” Boshielo
