Springbok women celebrate historic World Cup Quarter-Final spot
South Africa are about to undertake their toughest assignment since the Rugby World Cup final in Paris in 2023, when they prepare for New Zealand at Eden Park, on Saturday in round 3 of the Rugby Championship.
The Springboks will welcome Scrumhalf, Faf de Klerk, into the camp, and are hopeful that Hooker, Bongi Mbonambi, who is away on family duty, may still rejoin the squad later in the week.
South Africa have added double Rugby World Cup winner Faf de Klerk to their squad as additional scrumhalf cover for their two Rugby Championship tests in New Zealand, officials confirmed on Sunday.

Coach Rassie Erasmus also heaped praise on the women’s national side, who qualified for the quarter-finals of the Women’s Rugby World Cup for the first time in their history.
“I actually got up at 03h00, to watch and it was awesome. Congratulations to everybody in that environment and South African rugby for what they are doing with our Springbok women and it’s the first time we’ve reached the quarter-finals. It’s pretty tough but we are inspired,” says Erasmus.
