Bodyguards suspected of escorting “KT” Molefe arrested outside court

Two bodyguards suspected to have been escorting Katiso “KT” Molefe have been arrested outside the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court.

This is where Molefe and his three co-accused were appearing in connection with the case of murdered prominent music producer Oupa “DJ Sumbody” Sefoka, Hector “DJ” Vintos” Buthelezi and Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart.

Molefe is accused of orchestrating the murders. The case has been postponed to February 2026 and it has been transferred to the High Court in Johannesburg for trial.

National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the two bodyguards aged 24 and 36 were found carrying two semi-automatic rifles and ammunition without valid permits.

She says the bodyguards are believed to have been escorting an accused person which is suspected to be Katiso Molefe who appeared in court on Wednesday along his three co-accused.

Mathe says a vehicle transporting the bodyguards was also seized after the license disc did not correspond with the registration number plates.
