A recent video circulating on social media platforms of suspects committing robberies in broad daylight in the Bloemfontein CBD, Free State, has sparked a public outcry.
This as people are worried about their safety. However, nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the robberies.
One of the suspects has been arrested for buying stolen items.
They will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court on Monday on eight charges of aggravated robbery, and more charges may be added.
Police have urged those who witnessed the robberies to come forward.
“After the incident, we beefed up our members at this hotspot. We also urge people who have information to come forward. They must also know that their identity will be protected,” says Police spokesperson Brigadier Tebogo Jacobs.
