‘Black unity’ concept cannot only be directed at EFF: Malema

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the concept of “black unity” among black political parties cannot only be directed at the EFF.

Malema’s comments come as the African Congress for Transformation, led by Ace Magashule, called for black unity among political parties, including the uMkhonto weSizwe Party.

Malema says those calling for black unity should have joined the EFF instead of forming other parties.

He was speaking to the media in Pretoria after paying his respects to the family of Tsotsi actor and the River star, Presley ‘Cobrizi’ Chweneyagae.

“But I’ve got a problem. Why is this unity of black parties only directed at EFF? They never complained that the ANC doesn’t want to unite with them. They never complained that PA doesn’t want to unite with them. Every time … EFF … EFF. We’re not going to allow that.”

“You can see it’s not black unity. This is an agenda to destroy the EFF. Because why are they not giving you a report about black unity with UDM? Why are they not giving you a report about all these many black formations that are there?”
