BBC criticises BUSA for not including local businesses at B20 Summit

The Black Business Council has criticised Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) for not including local businesses at the B20 Summit.

The summit serves as a platform for shaping the global economic agenda, particularly in the context of Africa’s role in the world economy.

It’s the official G20 dialogue forum with the global business community, focusing on economic growth, sustainability, and inclusive prosperity.

President of the Black Business Council, Elias Monage, has described this year’s B20 Summit as a lost opportunity for local businesses.

“Our colleagues from BUSA have missed the bus because they’ve excluded a number of business formations in the country and they’ve excluded a number of business formations on the continent, despite the fact that one of the anchor themes is inclusivity.”

“We cannot talk about inclusivity but continue to exclude the marginalised businesses. Businesses in the township, in the rural areas and in the informal sector must be part of the conversation of this task force,” says Monage.
