After facing an uncertain future without a main sponsor, Banyana Banyana have now averted a potential financial crisis.

Global energy company, Sasol has eventually renewed its sponsorship of the national women’s football team, reaffirming its status as the longest-standing supporter of women’s football in South Africa since 2009.

The previous sponsorship cycle ended on 30 June 2025. While renewal negotiations took longer than, the South African Football Association says it provided an opportunity for both parties to align on shared objectives that will ultimately benefit women’s football.
